MES Lunch Programs – Important Updates for 2025–2026

Dear MES Families,

We are excited to share updates about two separate hot lunch programs available for MES students this school year. The MES Council Lunch Fundraiser will continue as per the norm, with lunches on Tuesdays and we are also happy to offer a new Hot Lunch program offered to the elementary students from MHS

Please read carefully to understand how each program works and how to place your orders.

1. MES Council Society Lunch Fundraiser

Every year, the MES Council Society raises and donates funds to provide our school with extras not covered by provincial funding. Our main fundraiser is the lunch program, and your participation directly supports MES students.

  • Lunch Days: Tuesdays
  • Meal Options:
    • A1 Pizza – $5.00 (large slice and juice box)
    • Subway – $6.50 (sandwich, M&M cookie, and apple juice box)
  • How to Order:
    • Sign up for the full year using the order form provided by Sep. 30, 2025

  • Subway: Oct 7, 21; Nov 4, 25; Dec 9; Jan 6, 20; Feb 10; Mar 3, 17, 31; Apr 21; May 5, 19
  • A1 Pizza: Oct 14, 28; Nov 18; Dec 2, 16; Jan 13; Feb 10, 24; Mar 10, 24; Apr 14, 28; May 12, 26

Payments must be received for your child to receive their lunch. Send etransfer to mescouncilsociety@gmail.com  Orders for full year must be in by Sept. 30If your child is away on a Tuesday when you have ordered lunch, please arrange for it to be picked up at the office or for it to be given to another student. Any questions about the MES Tuesday lunches should be directed to Brittany Wood at mescouncilsociety@gmail.com

 

2. Magrath High School Hot Lunch Program

In addition to the Council fundraiser, the Magrath High School Learning Support Program will also be offering hot lunches for MES students on Mondays and Wednesdays throughout the school year.

  • Meal Options:
    • Mondays (alternating):
      • Hotdog, chips, and juice box ($5 x 14 days = $70)
      • Chicken nuggets, fries, and juice box ($5 x 13 days = $65)
    • Wednesdays (alternating):
      • Pasta with meat sauce, garlic toast, and juice box ($5 x 15 days = $75)
      • Hamburger, cookie, and juice box ($5 x 15 days = $75)

  • How to Order:

This program is run by the High School Learning Support Program and is separate from the MES fundraiser lunches. Any questions about the Monday/Wednesday lunches need to be directed to Jill Byrgesen at jill.byrgesen@westwind.ab.ca or at the high school office 403-758-3366.
