New Parent Resources: Support Your Child’s Growth at Home

Thanks to a recent grant awarded to our School Council, Magrath Elementary is pleased to provide families with free access to three high-quality home learning resources created by Simply On Purpose, a respected leader in positive parenting education.
These printable guides are designed to help children develop critical social-emotional skills at home.
What’s Included
Each “Teach Me How” guide is interactive, practical, and written for busy parents. The three topics available to our school community are:
-
Grit & Determination – Helping kids keep going when things get tough
-
Growth Mindset – Teaching children to embrace challenges and believe in progress
-
Bravery & Assertiveness – Building confidence and learning to speak up respectfully
These resources are designed for ages 3–18 and can be used at your own pace. Each one includes:
-
A short, easy-to-teach lesson
-
Real-life role play scenarios
-
Discussion questions
-
Printable activities and visual reminders
-
Tools for parents to guide the conversation
Why This Matters
These skills—grit, mindset, and confidence—directly support what we teach in classrooms. But they also grow through small, consistent moments at home. These tools give you structured, age-appropriate ways to guide those moments without having to plan them yourself.
We hope you’ll try them out. Even 10–15 minutes a week using these tools can make a meaningful difference in your child’s development.
