Need to Know

Dear MES Families,

Happy First Week of School! Now that the school year is underway, I’d like to share a few more important updates to help ensure a smooth transition for everyone.

Picture Day:

• Monday September 9: Early Learning Program, Kindergarten and Gr. 1-3
• Tuesday September 10: Grades 4-6

Morning Drop-off:

While school doors open at 8:00am, students are not able to enter classrooms or hallways until 8:15am. We kindly ask that students arrive after 8:15am unless absolutely necessary, as this helps us maintain appropriate supervision and aligns with teachers' schedules.

Parent-Teacher Interviews:

Our first Parent-Teacher Interviews of the year are scheduled for September 12. This is a great opportunity to discuss your child’s progress and set the stage for a successful year. Please sign up for a time slot at your earliest convenience at Parent-Teacher Interviews Signup.

Lunch Schedule:

Please note the slight adjustment to our lunch schedule this year:

- Grades 1-3: Lunch from 11:40am-12:00pm, followed by Recess from 12:00-12:20pm.

- Grades 4-6: Recess from 11:40am-12:00pm, followed by Lunch from 12:00-12:20pm.

We also request that you email your child's teacher to inform them of your child’s regular lunch plans (whether they go home every day or stay at school). If there are any changes throughout the year, please keep your child’s teacher updated.

Inside Shoes:

To help maintain cleanliness and ensure your child is prepared for gym class, we kindly ask that each student brings a pair of inside shoes to leave at the school.

School Fees:

Please remember that school fees are now due. You can conveniently pay via e-transfer to mesfees@westwind.ab.ca, or by visiting the office where we accept cash, credit, or debit. Your prompt attention to this matter is greatly appreciated! For more details, visit School Fees Information.
