April has gone fast and we are down to 8 weeks of school left. There is a LOT going on! To try to help out with that, I have put everything on one calendar that hopefully helps keep the surprises to a minimum and everyone enjoying all the fun activities. This calendar will be on our website as well and if something is going to change, we will communicate that as soon as we can.
Walk/Run Lunch Reminder - We love having so many kids doing walk/run club. Just a reminder that if your child normally comes home for lunch, they need to bring a lunch to school if they are staying. We have some lunch supplies for when kids forget, but we went through a lot of sandwiches last week. Thanks for helping with this by encouraging the kids to participate!
For Pitch-in Day - students should be wearing good walking shoes and if the weather is nice, a hat.
For Track & Field Days - we will provide each participating student with a hotdog, chips and juice box. They will need to bring additional snacks and a water bottle to keep their energy up throughout the day.

Playground Removal and Construction - The playground will be removed later this week, dependent on the weather. We would like to remind parents whose regular pick up and drop off point is the back of the school, to make different arrangements for the remainder of this week to keep everyone safe. Please keep all meeting points at or near the south end of the property (for those that meet at the back).
We are still looking for some volunteers to help with playground construction - especially on Thursday, June 13th. Please contact Julie at julie.gilson@westwind.ab.ca or let the office know if you are available and would like to help.
