MES 1000 Reading Challenge (begins Saturday Feb 19)

It is time for THE MES 1000 READING CHALLENGE - (begins Saturday Feb 19).

Hi MES! Next week there is NO SCHOOL! MES has a challenge for our WHOLE SCHOOL: The

MES 1000. For this challenge, our school needs to read for a total of 1000 hours over the Family Week break. Mrs. Gilson worked hard and crunched the numbers. If every student in our school read 30 minutes each day, we would pass our goal! Whether you are reading on your own, reading with your family, or listening to an audiobook, you can be a part of this challenge. To work together, MES is sending home a goal tracker. Color in a section for each time you read 30 minutes. Return your tracker to your teacher. If we reach our goal, all of the students at MES will have an extra recess! Students that participate in this challenge will have their name entered into a classroom draw for a $5 gift certificate to our next Scholastic Book Fair!

Students will bring the tracking form home before the break. Bring the form back to school on Monday February 28 to be counted in our total hours. Also take pictures of your reading and tag MES if you post them on social media.
