MES Duck Race Playground Fundraiser

We are excited to announce we will be having our first Duck Race Fundraiser for the new playground on Saturday, May 27, 2023!

What is a Duck Race?

A duck race fundraiser is a charity event where participants purchase numbered rubber ducks that are then released en masse into a body of water, such as a river or stream, and raced to the predetermined finish line. The ducks are assigned by number to the purchasers and the first ducks to cross the finish line win prizes and the proceeds from the sale of the ducks go towards a specific charitable cause, in this case to our new playground!

Our duck race will be taking place on Saturday May 27 down at the Fish Pond on Pothole Creek with a start time of 1:00pm. To raise money for our new playground we are asking MES students to sell 2-3 ducks. We will be sending home a pledge form for students to sell their ducks and as incentive those who do will be entered into a draw for prizes and to be the duck wranglers!

We are asking the student pledge forms be filled out and returned to the office by May 25th. We ask that duck purchases be made via etransfer to mesfees@westwind.ab.ca with the purchaser name, student name, and number of ducks purchased in the message.

There are several duck packages available:
1 Duck = $20
6 Duck Quack Pack = $100
30 Duck Mega Pack = $500

All proceeds from the event will go towards the playground project. Thank you in advance for your support and anyone interested in attending we will see on Saturday May 27 at 1pm!
